Reader, I've talked about messaging problems before, but they KEEP coming up, sooooo... It's time for another deep dive on, is it a messaging problem, or is it something else? Today, we are looking at THREE everyday things that get mistaken for messaging problems that are, in fact, not a messaging problem. But first (a word from our sponsor) If you are a Christian leader, carrying the weight of being a high performer, with the constant demands of this crazy market (helllllooooo roller coaster), our friend Stephanie is leading a 1-hour workshop that could quite literally transform how you show up in both business and life. If you are ready to break free from the cycle of overcommitment, so you can protect your time and energy, stay authentic to your God-given Identity, and focus on what matters most, this workshop is for you. During this workshop on October 15th, Stephanie will walk you through: →How to release the guilt of protecting your time, energy, and priorities by saying “no”, even when others don’t understand or you fear damaging your reputation, →How to understand why the pressure you feel isn’t really about weak boundaries, and how to interrupt that pattern with greater awareness, clarity, and confidence. →How to shift from measuring your worth by how much you do or how available you are to others, to how firmly you can remain true to your own path while responding to others with wisdom and compassion ... and much more! Stephanie is brilliant at what she does and, in just an hour, will give you the unlock you need to move forward with clarity around what’s really driving that pressure, and give you practical shifts to release it, without guilt. Here's the link to register for the FREE workshop on October 15th! I 10/10 recommend! Okay, now on to the content... Is it messaging or is it....??? Is it messaging or is it your offer? The first problem with MOST people's "messaging" usually has nothing to do with their messaging, but with their actual offer. You see, they are clearly articulating the offer, but they aren't selling the right thing. They are either selling something too general, or too inconsequential, meaning there isn't a specific outcome their offer actually gets someone, OR the outcome isn't something people will actually pay for. "But Danielle, if you position it the right way you can sell anything." Sure. Once or twice. But you are building a business. You need an offer that LOTS of people understand, want, and are willing to pay for. How to fix this? What is the EXACT outcome someone will get if they buy your thing? It's FINE if there are several ancillary outcomes. For example, the specific promise of Virtual Business School is that we will give you the complete system for making DAILY sales in your business. Ancillary benefits - audience building, brand building, a full pipeline for your high-ticket offers... But, the MAIN focus of the membership is to teach our PROVEN system for daily sales, then keep you up to date with new strategies that are working in the current market. The rest is icing on the cake. When the offer doesn't have a clear outcome, then no matter how fancy your messaging gets, it won't sell consistently. Additionally, lots of people are selling things that aren't worth the investment to their market. If the problem isn't painful enough, it won't be something people spend time and money on. This is really dependent on the industry and market you are in, but things like: How to create an elevator pitch or how to choose a course topic are GREAT opt-ins for the right audience, but NOT likely to be something people will pay $197 for (especially in today's AI-driven world). Is it messaging or is it your audience size? This. right. here. It's the real culprit behind MOST "messaging" problems. I would say 65% of the time (that's not a scientific percentage...), the real problem isn't messaging or offer, it's the volume of your audience. On average, 1-3% of your audience is ready to buy at any given time. And, that's of the people who actually see your offer repeatedly (it takse 7-21 times for an offer to be seen before someone will take action), which is probably around 5% of your social media audience and 30% of your email list. SO... let's do some math. Let's say you have 2000 followers across social media platforms and 1000 people on an email list. That means that on an AMAZING day, 100 people on social will see your posts about your offer, and 300 people will see your email (once). That's 400 total. Of those 400, maybe 300 of them see multiple posts/emails. So, you are looking at 3-5 sales MAX from that audience, which, if you're selling low ticket, isn't a lot of money. Even if you are selling a $500 offer, you are likely to sell closer to the 1%, that's $1500 a month. For most business owners, that's not sustainable, even at the higher percentage; that's only $2500. If you were able to convert that every month, it's STILL not enough to actually build a business. So, the solution isn't to change the offer or the messaging; it's to grow the audience and the number of people repeatedly seeing the offer. Is it messaging or is it a lack of consistency and repetition? The numbers above are a good starting point for the final culprit... Right offer, right messaging, big enough audience, NOT enough repetition. You will have some quick buyers for sure, especially when you have a bigger audience. They will buy in one live session, they will buy from one email, they will buy from one post. MOST will not act that quickly. MOST will need multiple exposures to the offer. 7-21 exposures to be exact, not to YOU, but to the OFFER. So, even if you have ENOUGH people in your audience, and a great offer with powerful messaging, 1-2 emails, posts, or recordings won't be enough to move LARGE GROUPS of people. If you are looking to make dozens or even hundreds of sales you will need LARGE volumes of people to see the offer MULTIPLE times. So - how do you know which problem you have? Well, audience size and repetition are easy to assess. If you know you have a small audience or that you aren't putting your offer out often enough, those are problems you can fix (run more ads to grow your audience or just put the offer out more consistently). If you aren't sure about the market fit for your offer, here are some ways to know: People sign up for the free information about the topic, but don't want to pay, even a low price. Run a small budget ad campaign, and see if the ads actually SPEND your budget. If not, it's not something people want. Is the offer in one of the main categories that people spend money on (money/business, health, relationships), or is it a vague, unclear outcome like more embodiment? Need support? We have a few ways we can help you: 1- Our ads agency is taking 2 clients before the end of the year. You must have a proven offer, have run a launch or masterclass in the past, and want to run a full ad strategy (branding, list building, and launches/masterclasses). To learn more, book a call with me here. ($1800/month for services + ad spend) 2-We take on 1:1 consulting clients for 5 sessions. You must be at $250k in annual revenue to work with us in this capacity, but we can work on offer strategy, audience growth, marketing cadence, sales processes, or team growth and structure. Here's a link to book a call to learn more about that ($5k investment). 3-Need a one-time session with our team to go over your offer? You can grab one of those for $397 HERE! And if you check the box for all of these things and still think it's a messaging problem, hit reply and let me know! We do have ways that we work with people on messaging (it starts at a $5k investment). Talk soon, Danielle P.S.
