Should you niche down in 2026?

Reader,

Today's topic is kind of controversial...

Which makes it fun.

All the interwebs people have opinions.

A lot of them.

And if I'm being honest, mine has changed over the last year and a half as the market has changed.

So, let's dive into what you need to know about niching down in 2026!

And, if you want to fight at the end of this, I can respect that!

Niching down your avatar

We've LONG taught that you don't have to get super narrow with your avatar demographically if you don't want to.

And that's still very much the case. No changes here.

You can be as niche (or not niche) with your avatar as you'd like!

If you want to get laser-focused on a specific demographic, you can.

But you don't have to.

Because of some of the things I will share later on, this is really not super important unless you WANT to work with a specific demographic.

Niching down your OUTCOMES

This is really where it becomes CRITICAL to start getting clear and specific.

Niching down around the OUTCOME you help your clients get (in all of your programs) is super important in today's market.

Unless you want to be an influencer, you've got to become KNOWN for an outcome you help people get.

You can get more specific within your offer suite, but having a clear general outcome you build your brand around will help you cut through the noise in 2026.

For example:

Kelly Roach is a business growth strategist who focuses on helping companies SCALE their revenue, profitability, and impact.

But, we can change that to her being a business growth strategist who helps companies build operational efficiency in their business to increase profit.

Or... a business growth strategist that helps companies build strategic brand positioning to differentiate their company from their competitors.

The OUTCOMES you help people get are the simplest way to make it clear what someone should come to you for.

And I know, I know..

"You can help everyone with everything."

But the truth is, that will CRUSH your brand in 2026.

It has NEVER been easier to create content than it is right now.

Literal BOTS are out here competing against you. AI fake humans.

You can't risk any sort of confusion.

None.

Having CLARITY around the outcome you help your ideal client get is FAR more important than choosing a demographic.

It should inform all of your offers.

It should inform all of your branding.

It should inform all of your marketing and content.

This is the lens through which we look at EVERYTHING!

Niching down your offers

Now things get a little more specific...

Within the outcome you get - you need to get even more niche in the outcome of each offer.

Why?

Because overwhelm is at an all-time high.

People are SLOW to make buying decisions.

Everyone out here is selling something - even the AI bots, so it's critical that when you are putting together your offer suite, you have:

  • A specific outcome for EACH offer
  • A signature system that differentiates you
  • Results that speak directly to the outcome you say you get

For example:

Kelly Roach is a business growth strategist who helps companies SCALE their revenue, profitability, and impact.

We have three MAIN offers in our suite (with a few custom offers and done-for-you that are ancillary in our other companies).

Virtual Business School, where we teach you our Daily Sales System (signature system) and help you create consistent daily sales in your business (outcome).

Virtual Business School Gold is where we teach you our Multiplier Method (signature system) to help you scale your sales exponentially, increase lifetime value, and grow your brand footprint (outcome)

Legacy Leaders is where we teach founders to scale from $2-10M in annual revenue and beyond . We have a LEGACY framework (signature system) that we rotate through at this level, but there is much more customization and masterminding here.

The main point?

There is a clear distinction between what you can expect to work on in each of the programs.

As you are crafting your offers, your NICHE should shine through in the promises of each offer, so you become KNOWN for the results you help your clients get.

Niching down your personal brand

Your personal brand should be tied to the result you help people get.

If you are a business strategist helping people optimize operational efficiency for maximum scalability, you shouldn't be talking about your luxury purses or fancy cars.

Instead, you find things you value (family, faith, fitness, freedom) and talk about how operational efficiency is connected to those things.

Example:

Getting your team on the same page is what gave you back the freedom to attend your daughter's events at school.

Or your daily workouts are part of the system you use to create predictable results in your energy levels.

Or how your operational systems are what allow you to onboard team members simply, giving you back 20 hours with every new hire.

We think it's cute to be out here talking about all of these other things that are NOT at all connected to what we do, so people "like" us. But that's an influencer strategy, not a business owner strategy.

Again, trust when it comes to business results isn't built by being likable.

We all LIKE plenty of people we would never pay.

Proof of expertise and results are what build trust in a market like today's.

Don't waste your time being an influencer when you could be building a true lane of authority that drives sales.

I did a FULL training on this the other day. Here's the link to watch it!

Moral of the story...

Clarity in a market like today's is CRUCIAL!

If you want to cut through the noise - niching down is the quickest path to becoming known for YOUR zones of genius.

That's all, friends!

Danielle

For most people, books are treated as a milestone, or an end game. They’ll do it when things “slow down” in their business, or when they finally have time to think again. It doesn’t feel as urgent as focusing on sales or marketing. They start it, put a pin in it, and don’t come back to it for a long...

Reader, Today's newsletter is a little different than my deep dives, but it feels needed. We are one month into the new year - and let's just say, it's been interesting. Every week, I meet 1:1 with business owners who are experienced... Running high 6 and multi-7-figure businesses. And they are winning... but it definitely feels a little chaotic. People are buying, but things are not at all predictable, and so business owners are second-guessing themselves left and right. So - I thought this...
